OK so with all the recent posts of RB swaps i've been doing some diggin, i haven't decided yet if i'm going to dive into a swap yet, seems like too much labor to retain everything rather than just doing an upgrade (FOR ME THAT IS, for those doing it i do fully support the something different model and the clean engine bay look) anywho it seems as is the two transmission are identical inside, the input shaft is the same but the RB25's trans is like 1/8" longer (negligible) and you can pop one into the vg30dett by just swapping the bell housing. My question is is it the other way around too? Seeing that there is a 1/8" shorter difference, can a VG's trans bolt up to the RB25 engine just with a bell housing swap? I don't plan on doing it but just curiosity strikes. Also does anyone know, when 240sx's and whatever other cars do a RB26 or RB25 swap, what transmission do they utilize, from my little research thus far it seems whether they swap a RB25/RB26 the 240sx's will use a RB25's transmission because the 6spd in the RB26 is a bit too big to fit without a lot of work.
